Pedal-with-Pete is possible because of our volunteers’ dedication to increase public awareness of and raise funds for research. Most volunteer roles involve preparation of the events and logistics on ride day. Volunteer opportunities are available with varying levels of commitment. Your time investment can be as little as four hours on ride day or you can make a longer term commitment to the local planning team.
Planning positions for “Pedal-with-Pete, Columbus, Ohio” currently open include the following:
Day of Ride Volunteers
Set up, clean up, registration, food stops, etc.
Ride Chair
Chair and coordinate volunteer meetings
Attend board meetings
Coordinate all scheduling, fund raising, PR, and operational activities
Coordinate ride day staging and setup
Fund Development Director or Co-Director
Update financial sponsor publicity
Write formal letter to existing donors
Call/email/snail mail existing sponsors
Find and develop new sponsors
Thank sponsors
Work to secure financial sponsors
Safety Director
Manage the updating and placement of the First Aid Kits
Coordinate Ride Policy that might impact Safety
Collaborate with Sheriff and EMT units in the counties we cover
Pedal-with-Pete Available Volunteer Positions for the 2012 Kent Ride (one year commitment):
Secretary
Take and prepare minutes for Pedal-with-Pete meetings, typically held once a month January thru June and quarterly July thru December; Thursdays at 7PM. Time requirement 2-3 hours a month when there are meetings.
Publicity Chairman
Arrange publicity for the Pedal-with-Pete annual ride in Kent, OH. Attend PwP meetings, typically held once a month January thru June and quarterly July thru December; Thursdays at 7PM. Time requirement 2-3 hours a month when there are meetings. Time requirement 1- 2 hours per month except January, February, and May, add several hours per month.
Donations Chairman
Organize corporate donations, food donations for ride day, door prize donations for ride. Attend PwP meetings typically held once a month January thru June and quarterly July thru December; Thursdays at 7PM. Time requirement 2-3 hours a month when there are meetings. Time requirement 1- 2 hours per month except January, February, and May, add several hours per month.
