Biography, Ernie Larger
Ernie Larger has served as President of the Pedal with Pete Board of Directors since 2010. Ernie and his wife, Debbie, first got involved with PwP during the inaugural Columbus event in 2001, volunteering their time to help with the planning, acquisition, and distribution of food for the event’s rest stops. Ernie served in a number of other leadership positions over the last 40 years. For example, he was a Board Member and Board President for a non-profit youth sports organization that owned 70 acres of land and had 3000 youth participants in the Columbus metropolitan area. Ernie also had hands-on involvement with a Christian Ministry that serves men and women recovering from addictions. Professionally, prior to retiring in 2010, he held a number of management positions in Information Technology at Chemical Abstracts Service, a division of the American Chemical Society.
Ernie is motivated by the mission of the PwP foundation. “As a member of the Pedal with Pete’s Research and Education Committee, I have witnessed first-hand the expertise and the dedication of researchers, the quality of the research studies being funded, and the positive impacts that research has had on individuals and families impacted by cerebral palsy.”
Ernie and Debbie are proud parents of two adult married children and have 4 grandchildren.
